Pin It with Pinterest

Do you use Pinterest? It’s a really cool social network and I’ve spent hours on it in my spare time. Pinterest is a social networking site, virtual scrapbook and bookmarking site all in one. Whether you’re a new artist on the rise, a business or just wanting to do something with your leisure time, Pinterest is the spot for you.

Pinterest is ranked as the third most popular social-networking site in the US –behind only Facebook (#1) and Twitter (#2). You’re probably wondering why you should care about Pinterest, right? Well, it has 28 million visitors a month, 48.7 million users and 9 million monthly Facebook-connected users. This is a great site to market yourself, business or whatever it is you have to offer. It only takes a few seconds and clicks to join. You can create an account by connecting Twitter or Facebook or use you email address.  Once you’re signed up, create a profile and you’re ready to pin. A few ways to pin are to upload from your computer, mobile app and from any URL on the web.

Ways to share:
Re-Pin a pin to one of your boards -- Share on Facebook or Twitter --Send via Email-- Embed the pin on your site
Following:
Like Twitter, you can follow anyone
Not “friends” relationship – so they don’t have to follow you back
You can follow particular boards a user has created; you don’t have to follow all of their boards
You’ll notice a discrepancy between boards follows and people follows on both your account and others

People share just about anything on Pinterest like pictures, recipes, books, movies, infographics, home décor, clothes, causes, inspiration, humor, places to visit, links to their social sites, content from websites, and etc.
